Piper Hamill, B.S.
Piper Hamill serves the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance as a Research Coordinator in Community Engagement. In this role, she coordinates and facilitates the Teacher Workshops in Conservation Science program each summer at the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Center for Conservation Research. During the school year, she develops and instructs educational modules for the team’s ongoing Exploring Conservation Science field trip program.
Piper earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Systems: Ecology, Behavior, and Evolution at the University of California, San Diego. She is currently earning her M.A. in Biology through Project Dragonfly's Advanced Inquiry Program with a focus on understanding how to empower communities to take effective conservation action.
Prior to joining the Community Engagement team, Piper worked at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park as a tour guide for Roar & Snore, Butterfly Jungle, and Cart Safaris. One of Piperʻs favorite parts of the job is learning new things! Keeping the curriculum updated with the newest research makes her a forever student.
